Uniquely shaped openings, such as those above an entry door or high in a gable, can be filled with a window built to that outline, alone or paired with others. Each one is custom-fitted with 3/4-inch insulated glass in a 2 7/8-inch frame.
Each shape is custom-measured and made to follow the opening, so there is no filler panel to hide.
Colonial, Diamond and perimeter grid patterns help match a shaped window to the era of your home.
Dual-pane insulated glass cuts heat gain from the sun even where the window is not a rectangle.

(210) 796-9574A specialty window is any window with a non-rectangular shape or custom configuration, such as arches, half rounds, circles, octagons, trapezoids and triangles. They are usually fixed, custom-made to fit a unique opening and often paired with standard windows below them. Specialty windows add architectural character and light where a standard unit cannot fit.
Common window shapes include rectangles, arches, half rounds, full circles, ovals, octagons, quarter rounds, trapezoids and triangles. Rectangles are the most common, while the other shapes are typically fixed specialty units. Gable walls, entryways, stairwells and vaulted rooms are where unusual shapes appear most often, usually as accents above or beside standard windows.
A Palladian window is a three-part window with a tall arched center window flanked by two shorter rectangular windows. Named after the Italian architect Andrea Palladio, it is a classic feature on traditional and colonial-style homes. A replacement can recreate the arrangement by combining a custom arched unit with matching side windows.
Some specialty shape windows can open, but most are fixed. Shapes with straight sides, such as trapezoids or arch-top units, can sometimes be built as casements or hung windows, while circles and half rounds are usually fixed. Pairing a fixed shape with operable windows below it is the common way to get both character and airflow.
Custom shape windows cost more because each one is built to a specific template rather than a standard size, and curved frames and glass take more fabrication time. Installation also needs precise measuring and fitting. The final cost depends on shape, size and glass package. Our San Antonio team measures each shape so the new unit fits the existing opening exactly.
Shaped windows depend on careful measuring, so we come out at no cost, record the outline and talk through how it pairs with the windows around it.
Any sizes you already have will help, and we can then arrange a visit to trace the opening.
