Windows that push back against long San Antonio summers.
Sun on glass is a major way heat gets into a Texas home. Low-E coatings, vinyl frames, warm-edge spacers and a sealed installation each cut part of that load so your air conditioning has less to fight.
Low-E glass
A thin metallic coating reflects infrared heat while letting daylight through, so west-facing rooms stay cooler.
Vinyl frames
Vinyl conducts far less heat than the old aluminum frames found in many older San Antonio houses.
Warm-edge spacers
Spacers between the panes affect how much heat travels around the glass edge and how well the seal holds up.
Sealed installation
Gaps around a frame leak cooled air outdoors, so our team closes up every opening during the install.

(210) 796-9574The most energy-efficient windows combine insulated frames such as vinyl or fiberglass, double- or triple-pane glass with Low-E coatings, insulating gas fills and an airtight installation. Fixed and casement styles seal tightest. In Texas heat, a low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient matters most because it limits how much of the sun's heat passes through the glass.
A U-factor of 0.27 indicates a well-insulated window, since lower U-factors mean less heat moves through the glass and frame. In hot climates, check the Solar Heat Gain Coefficient alongside it, because blocking the sun's heat matters as much as insulation. Both ratings appear on the NFRC label, and ENERGY STAR publishes criteria by climate zone.
Low-E glass has a microscopically thin metallic coating that reflects heat while letting visible light through. In Texas, it helps keep the sun's heat outside, which eases the load on your air conditioning and helps protect furniture and floors from fading UV rays. Low-E coatings designed for hot climates block more solar heat than general-purpose ones.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, or SHGC, measures how much of the sun's heat passes through a window, on a scale from 0 to 1, and lower numbers mean less heat gain. In hot, sunny climates, a low SHGC is one of the most important window ratings to check. You can find it on the NFRC label of any rated window.
No federal credit applies to windows installed in 2026. According to the IRS, the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit covered qualifying windows placed in service through December 31, 2025. Energy-efficient windows still reduce heat gain and cooling demand, so the comfort case stands on its own. Ask a tax advisor about any local or utility incentives.
West- and south-facing windows usually let in the most heat in San Antonio, because they take the strongest afternoon and midday sun. Those openings benefit most from Low-E glass with a low Solar Heat Gain Coefficient, along with shading such as patio covers or exterior screens. Our San Antonio team can identify the hottest openings during a free home assessment.
